Join us for a special double-bill screening celebrating three iconic Carterton figures.

Experience the world premiere of By Hand (2026), an intimate short documentary directed by Jane Ross that showcases the artistry, skill, and dedication of Ali and Greg Lang, the last traditional wheelwright and coach painter in New Zealand. Both equally integral to this extraordinary craft, Ali and Greg continue to enrich the Carterton community through their work and commitment, preserving a unique heritage for future generations.

Followed by Georgie Girl (2001), directed by Annie Goldson, which profiles Georgina Beyer, former Carterton Mayor, and the first openly transgender Member of Parliament in New Zealand, and the world. Georgina passed away in 2023, leaving a lasting legacy of courage, leadership, and inspiration.
